​When and Where
Race Date: Sunday 15th October 2017
Venue: Waitemata Rugby Club, 96 Swanson Road, Henderson, Waitakere City
Start Times: 
21km and 11km events - 8:00am (for both walkers and runners)
5km Fun Run -  8.05am
2km Kids Fun Run - 8.30am

Be There: well in time to park and get to the compulsory race briefing at 7:45am

Race Entry:  The Waitakere Half Marathon and 11km/5km/2km Fun Runs are open to walkers and runners, as individual entrants. Groups larger than 10 please contact us to work through the group entry process 

2km Kids Fun Run: A 2km fun run around Waitemata Rugby Club open to kids between 4 and 10 years old.  This will start just after the main field starts and the course will be well marked and marshaled. 

Late Entries: Late entries are accepted at registration on Saturday 8 October and on race day morning. 

Event Running T-shirts: We hope to have samples of these up shortly online with the link through to the provider.

Bulk/Group Entries: Looking to take on the challenge as a team? Contact us and we will send you the bulk entry form - for groups of 15+ we are happy to look into what discount we can give you.

Race Pack Pick-up: Race packs containing your bib number and timing chip can be collected at registration on Saturday 14th October from the Sport Waitakere office at the Waitemata Rugby Club from 10am to 5pm. Race packs will not be posted out. Alternatively you can collect these on race day. It is your responsibility to return your timing chip at the end of the event. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to you at $50.00 (including GST) each. For more information about your timing chip, please see our Race Timing page.

No need to bring your confirmation email, we can use your surname and some ID.  You can collect your friends or families race packs but must bring their email confirmations signed by them.

Safety: All entrants must familiarise themselves with the course, read the Safety page on this website, and sign the event waiver or agree to it on the on-line entry form.


Supporters and Spectators: Please do not accompany the runners and walkers at any stage during the event. You are welcome to make yourself comfortable at the race festival as you await the arrival of your athlete.

Drink Stations: Water will be available at aid stations positioned throughout the event . Water and sports drinks will be available at the finish line.

Time Limit: The event cut-off time for runners and walkers to reach the finish line is three hours.

Prize Giving: Prize giving will be held at 11.30am .

Spot Prizes: This is a fun event so most prizes are awarded as spot prizes. Every entrant who completes the distance they entered for is eligible for a spot prize.


  • The major spot prizes will be drawn at prize giving and you must be present to receive one. If a spot prize winner is not to receive a prize, it will be redrawn.
  • The remainder of the spot prizes are awarded as runners and walkers cross the finish line. They are awarded on a pre-select placing and divided equally throughout the field.

Plaques: Plaques will be awarded to:

  • the first female and male individuals to cross the finish line in the half marathon
  • the first female and male individuals to cross the finish line in the 11km fun run
  • the first female and male youth to cross the finish line in the half marathon
  • the first female and male youth to cross the finish line in the 11km fun run

Race Results: Provisional results will be posted at the finish on race day. Race results will be published on this web site on race-day evening. See the Race Timing page for more information.

Certificates: Certificates will be available to view or print by clicking the icon on your results page. Certificates will not be posted out.


Gear Tent: Waitakere Triathlon & Multisport club will be operating a gear tent where you can drop your belongings while you race. Look for the tents displaying the Waitakere Tri logo.​
